Where is my magazine?
Issue 26: Mindfulness -- Shipped! As of 5/1, we finished shipping all pre-orders and subscriptions. Depending on how close you live to New York, that will tell you how soon your issue should arrive. International location shipments take longer than US East Coast locations.
Issue 27: Identity -- Shipping now! On 7/10, we just received our latest issue and are packing them and shipping them now. Over the next week or two, we'll be shipping out this issue.
Be sure to follow us on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr for constant updates about where we are in production, printing, and shipping. Our issues are meant to last, so we take extra care to make sure it's as perfect as we can get it - that means that we aren't like InTouch, Woman's World, etc, each issue is a work of love.
Returns & exchanges
Currently we do not accept returns or exchanges for issues of Chickpea and digital files except in the cases where we made a mistake (ie. we sent the wrong issue, we wrote the wrong address, etc.) Please double check your address and contact us ASAP with any changes - we can't be held responsible for being given incorrect information.
All digital items will be sent to you automatically after purchase. Digital subscriptions will be sent as soon as the newest issue is released. Please double check your email to ensure proper delivery.
Purchase of digital goods does not transfer ownership or give the customer the right to redistribute or resell. Digital issues may NOT be reproduced in print. The quality of our print issues is outstanding - instead of photocopying digital issues, definitely check out our discounted pre-orders and issue packs to get a deal!
There are no refunds or exchanges for digital items.
What size are your digital issues? Each PDF issue ranges between 70-150MB.
Are your digital issues interactive? Yes! There are tappable/clickable links throughout each issue. Tap/click on articles that interest you in the Table of Contents to head to it. Tap/click on the Chickpea Magazine label on the bottom of most pages to get back to the table of contents. Tap/click on contributor links to head to their websites/social media.
I haven't received my digital issue(s)! Be sure that the email you ordered with is the email you're checking. Check the spam box of your email client, or the "promotions" or "social" tabs. If you still can't find your download email, please email email@example.com and we'll get it to you as quickly as possible.
All standard orders (except pre-orders, noted below) are shipped within 72 hours of purchase through USPS. Please double check your full address to ensure proper delivery.
Standard order shipping takes anywhere from 3-10 days depending on where you live. International orders may take anywhere from 10-30 days, depending on customs slow downs.
My mailing address is wrong/needs to be changed. Please fill out this form as soon as you possibly can. We do not refund orders or send additional shipments for free if you give us the wrong address. Make sure before you order that you write the correct address, or fill out the form within 24 hours to correct your address. If you pre-order an issue or subscription, let us know as soon as you can if you're moving by filling out the form above. Once the package is shipped out, we can't alter the address!
Do you ship to my country? Yes, we ship worldwide! The shipping charge to your location will be calculated before checkout.
Can you mark "gift" on my customs form so I don't have to pay international customs fees? Or can you adjust the value of goods on my customs form so I don't have to pay international customs fees? No, sorry. That's illegal!
Why is shipping so expensive to my international location? Shipping is just expensive in general, especially if it's going to the other side of the world, despite what Amazon will lead you to believe! We make NO money on international shipping, and often lose money in the process, because we underprice our subscription shipping. This is why many indie magazines don't even ship internationally - we keep it on in case someone from another country does want an issue.
If you're having trouble with the shipping costs, you have options - grab multiple issues to make the most of the shipping fee, we even have discounted issue packs specifically for this; split the cost with a friend or two by buying multiples at once; check to see if there's an international stockist near you; or buy digital copies instead.
Pre-orders are a necessity for us - without them, we wouldn't be able to pay our printer the large up-front costs of printing issues in bulk. They're great for you, too - you get a 20% discount on your issue total and you're guaranteed an issue in our small, limited runs of printing.
How do pre-orders work? We set up a dedicated pre-order time for about two weeks. At the end of the two weeks, we get the issues printed, which takes anywhere from 4-5 weeks. We then package everything up ourselves and send them out with lots of love, and packing tape.
I want to buy your magazine, but I don't have a credit card! Do you accept Paypal? What forms of payment do you take in your shop?
Yes, we accept Paypal! We take any major credit card as well as PayPal.

Where can I buy older or sold-out issues of Chickpea?
We print all of our issues in limited runs, but every so often we'll print a few more if there's demand for it. You can join this mailing list to be notified when older issues are available again.
Do you sell issues on consignment?
No, but we do work with businesses through wholesale. Head here to learn more!
We will never sell your name, email address, mailing address, or any other personal information to third parties for any reason. The only time your address will be given out to a third party will be for fulfillment purposes, normally directly to the United States Postal Service. If we ever use a fulfillment company we will make sure any personal information transmitted is respected and not sold to a third party.
